Why is it so hot.

For us Los Angelians we have been so kindly blessed these last few months with wonderfully mild weather.  And really, it's been fabulous because usually, come June time, LA turns into a hellfire and becomes so unbearably hot that you literally just want to keel over and die.  And you know this inferno lasts for like, eh 6 months or so. Anyways, this past weekend was the first weekend that we actually turned on the air conditioner full time this entire year.  And folks, it's August!!!  The end of August might I add  - it is quite quite odd for southern California especially since the rest of the country's on fire.  Anyways, I'm not complaining.  But it's weird, that's all I'm saying.

Anyways, this past weekend, Geof and Mayra came to visit and so on Saturday, Alli and May and I decided to make it a girl's day.  We had a lovely brunch in Pasadena and then went to watch Eat Pray Love.  We were going to see Eclipse, but didn't want to ruin the Twilight saga for Alli since she just started reading the series.  FYI she's on Book 2 now and she loves it - BUT OF COURSE --- because who doesn't?  Well Grace didn't like Twilight.  And neither did Suzz.  But whatev.

After the movie we headed over to The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, apparently just called "the arboretum" by locals and watched the CalPhil play Disney musicals while we wined and dined, picnic-style on the lawn.  Allison sang out loud to We Are the Champions.  That was probably the highlight of the evening.  It was hot and kinda sticky and a bit buggy but it was fun just lying out and listening to the pretty music.
